After her appearance in “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” in 2005 and ABC’s TV series “Ugly Betty” in the coming year, America Ferrera comes to light. She has been working since she was eight, and the Aries lady has received many honors, including the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance Performer, and was also selected in May 2007 as one of the 100 Most Attractive Women in the World annual People’s Magazine.

Georgina Ferrera is America, the youngest one out of six siblings. With four sisters and one brother, the last one was born on the 14th of April 198Her parents are Hondurans who, in the mid 1970s, immigrated to the United States. Her mother worked as a house cleaner at a restaurant, but when she was a teenager, her father abandoned the family. Recalling the tale, Ferrera said, “It wasn’t easy, but as a kid you find ways to make sense of it. It wasn’t until I was older that I thought, ‘Damn, I never really grieved over that’. And there have been male figures in my life who provided that kind of fatherhood role for longer than he was ever in my life.” Her mom channeled her kids to acquire school awareness and to undertake higher education.

Born and raised in Forest Hills, Ferrera was born in Los Angeles, California. She began performing for school plays and neighborhood theaters at the age of eight. She went to George Ellery Hale Middle School in Forest Hills and El Camino Real High School, where she played a minor role in Hamlet’s school production. She learned from that experience that she wanted to be an actress, and so she took part in more school plays and community theater in Los Angeles. In pushing Ferrera to perform after she saw the determination in the aspiring actress, her mom helped a lot with her future.
