Cam Newton eventually revealed that during his friendship with Kia Proctor, a long-time ex, he had fathered a child with another woman. On Father’s Day, the quarterback took to social media to publicly reveal the child he had previously kept secret from the press.
The child named Caesar is a baby boy. The mother is a model called Reina, from Instagram. She was reportedly the reason the 31-year-old NFL player called it quits with Kia after a longtime friendship.
Cam declared himself the proud dad of seven brothers. He shares with Kia four children and with Reina one sibling. He also becomes, through her former engagement, a father figure for Kia’s daughter Shakira and Reina’s first son Jaden.
He posted on his Instagram pictures of all the guys, including Jaden. During a father-daughter lunch date in an older video posted in May, he was seen playing Uno with the boy in the Father’s Day post and playing “a little game of SPEED” with Shakira.
A DADDY is not defined as the man who makes the child (NOT in all instances),” he wrote, “but rather a MAN who spreads his hands and time to help raise the child and his heart to Support the child despite anything!! Blood doesn’t necessarily make you DADDY. Being a DAD comes from the heart… Anyone can make a kid, but it takes a true man to raise a child!! Kudos to all the real men around the world!! HAPP!!
When they divorced over allegations of his infidelity, Cam and Kia were previously embroiled in a custody dispute. Back then, when she was calling for complete jurisdiction, he requested dual custody. He sought DNA samples for the four children she gave birth to after their relationship as she needed child care.
