Cheryl Lemke, who specializes in meteorology, is a renowned broadcast media expert.


Childhood, Family Background & Personal Life :

Originally, Lemke emerged from Omaha, Nebraska. She is married to her uncle, who is the host of an Atlanta country music radio program. The couple didn’t have any children.


Cheryl was still fascinated right from her youth by the force of nature and the events of nature, such as tornadoes, thunderstorms, and hurricanes.


The tornado season in Nebraska is typically one of the most troubling in the United States in terms of tornado incidence and intensity. Cheryl, instead of being afraid, was watching the sky in wonder!


Education :

In 1978, Cheryl relocated to Iowa to attend Iowa State University after graduating high school and graduated in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology.


She pursued her education at the University of Nebraska following her first degree by taking a course in broadcasting and communications.


Job, Salary & Net Worth :

Much of Cheryl’s professional life was spent between 1986 and 2008 at The Weather Channel (TWC), where she spent about 22 years there.


She provided local, regional and national weathe forecasts as the On-air meteorologist of the station. She also served the channel for advertising activities for cable/affiliate purchases. Lemke has documented breaking weather incidents from remote areas and anchored them.
The Hurricane Katrina coverage in 2005 was one of the most exciting incidents of Lemke’s career.


A host of talented meteorologists, including Cheryl & others such as Kristina Abernathy, Eboni Deon, Kristin Dodd, Rich Johnson and Mark Mancuso, were laid off by TWC from 2008-2009.
She obtained seals of approval from the National Weather Association (NWA) and the American Meteorological Society for her work on covering severe weather phenomena (AMS).

She also collaborated with other networks, such as WTHI-TV, WOI-TV and WHO-TV, throughout the course of her career.

She is the Chief Meteorologist for Newschannel 20 at the moment.

  • Between 1987 and 1994, Cheryl worked for the L’AGENCE Agency in Atlanta, Georgia, modelling film and print advertisements.
