Kid Rock Biography and Life Story

On January 17, 1971, in Romeo, Michigan, a remote rural town north of the Detroit metro area, Kid Rock was born Robert Ritchie. He is regarded as a rap music artist, mixing rap with the sounds of more conventional rock and even country music, in particular. This third of four children felt lonely to reside in such a tiny city without much to do, except that his Catholic family pressured him to join the routine Sunday ritual at church. He rooted himself in rap music because of that, learnt to break-dance, and started to do the talent-show rounds in Detroit.

And it was in 1988 that Rock received an opportunity to record his first recordings, which at a Boogie Down Productions gig finally scored an opening slot. The demonstrations lead him to a deal with Jive Records, which released his debut album, Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast, released in 1990. “Licensed to Ill,”Licensed to Ill,”Yodelin’ in the Valley.”Yodelin ‘in the Valley, was broadcast by a New York college radio station. But, despite occasionally cooperating, Jive eventually dropped him mostly because they didn’t see “more”

After such a decision, Rock went to Brooklyn, where, with “The Polyfuze Method,” published in 1993, he linked up with the tiny Continuum label and moved his rap brand deeper towards hard rock. Commenting on this, some reviewers appreciated the irony and eclecticism of the album, whilst others criticized it as painful and compulsive. Rock published Top Dog imprint, which was also circulated by Continuum, which would not take such stuff too seriously. Then he finally moved to the Detroit area and started working on another song, “Early Mornin’ Stoned Pimp,” which was released in 1996, produced on a shoestring budget. He also tried to start up a full-fledged supporting band, who he called Twisted Brown Trucker, but he had little money left in his wallet that he was often compelled to sell the illicit records of his own musical success. On January 17, 1971, in Romeo, Michigan, a remote rural town north of the Detroit metro area, Kid Rock was born Robert Ritchie.
