Lil Uzi Vert, whose actual name is Symere Woods, was born in Northern Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on July 31, 199From his rapid-fire delivery, he acquired his stage name and reputation. His high school buddy called William Ashton praises the musician with bringing him into rapping. He made his rap debut by being featured on some of the tracks by DJ Diamond Kuts, mainly inspired by Marilyn Manson, Young Thug, Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa. In 2015, when he launched “Dej Loaf” a track that he dedicated to a Detroit vocalist of the same name, Uzi Vert kicked his career into high gear.
Since listening to one of his radio hits, his creativity was first discovered by Don Cannon. Uzi Vert later received a record contract with the band, Generation Now, and Atlantic Albums from Cannon, DJ Drama, and Leighton Morrison. Uzi Vert achieved enormous fame in 2015 after being featured along with A$AP Ferg and Rich The Kid on Carnage’s album ‘WDYW.’
In December 2015, Uzi Vert released his third mixtape, “Luv Is Rage” which features appearances from Wiz Khalifa and Young Thug, following the popular collaboration. The fourth mixtape, “Lil Uzi Vert Vs. The World” was launched the next year, making its debut on the Billboard 200 chart in the top 50. Two songs from the collection have also landed on Billboard Hot 100, “You Was Right” and “Money Longer”
On July 31, 2016, Uzi Vert’s fifth mixtape, ‘The Ultimate Luv Tape,’ was launched on his 22nd birthday. 2016 appeared to be a very bright year for the career of Uzi Vert as he achieved the first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 single as a featured artist with his collaboration hit, “Bad and Boujee” with hip-hop collective Migos, by the end of the year. His top charting song was also illustrated by the viral hit.
Uzi Vert has been nominated for the 2017 Billboard Music Awards in three categories. Best Rap Album and Top Rap Partnership for “Bad and Boujee” one award for Top Artist and two categories. In the same year, he is preparing to release his sixth mixtape, ‘Luv is Rage 2.’
