Meagan Monique Good has satisfyingly hit the film industry hard to grow as one of the future starlets of her age, focusing more on her wit and good skill in playing roles rather than simply relying on her mesmerizing appearance and beautiful body. She was born in Panorama City, California, on August 8, 1981, but grew up in the nearby neighborhood of Valencia, Santa Clarita, a perfect mix of African American, Puerto Rican, French and Cherokee Indian origins. Since the tender age of four, her interest in show business has started through various stages of national advertisements that led her to be home-schooled after a span of time in high school. It was not until her early teens that she made her entry into screen development, acting as an extra in “Gabriel’s Fire” (1994) and Kid #2 in “House Party 3” in an episode of the ABC TV series “Friday” in 1991, before crossing to the film role as an extra (1995).
Meagan began to focus on her journey in the acting industry with the help of her mum, Tyra Doyle, to later successfully land a supporting part in the touching drama of Kasi Lemmons, ‘Eve’s Bayou’ (1997), alongside Jurnee Smollett, Samuel L. Jackson, plus Lynn Whitfield. While only obtained fair result in box-office, the film was well-received by critics with her own earned the share of their tremendous acclaim, also wonderfully became the nominee of the category Outstanding Youth Actor/Actress at the following year’s NAACP Image Awards. This success launched her to large prominence immediately and in that year turned the slender beauty into a new emerging young star.
In 2007, as she confidently entered into the musical thriller genre with Sylvain White’s “Stomp the Yard.” Meagan’s success in the film business wonderfully took a step higher. Amid the negative reviews of critics, the movie unexpectedly strove to debut at number one on the box office with a gross first-weekend of $22 million, finally earning a cumulative haul of around $61 million in the States alone. It also brought her two 2007 nominations for the Choice Movie Actress of the Teen Choice Awards and the Best Kiss of the MTV Movie Awards, the latter being shared with Columbus Short. It was definitely very convenient for the beauty to land her subsequent stints, flying high on the acclaim, for she then earned slots in multiple 2008 productions of “The Love Guru” “One Missed Call” and “Sundays in Fort Greene” which she also made.
