Simon Cowell Biography and Life Story


Simon Cowell, renowned for his scathing critical remarks as a judge on “American Idol” started to develop his way into popularity as a mailroom clerk at EMI Music Publishing when he was a teenager at his father’s firm. He won a job as an assistant to an executive at A&R in 1979 and was eventually persuaded to become a talent scout. He, however, left the business to shape E&S Music with his boss at EMI, Ellis Rich, in the early 1980s. In 1985, he resigned and partnered up with a friend to create the indie label Fanfare Records, which only lasted until 1989, sadly. Later the same year, he worked at BMG Records as a manager.
