On July 18, 1967, Mark Vincent was born in New York City. Vin Diesel was an actress, producer, editor, and director. His father, when his mother was a psychologist and an astrologer, taught theatre. In an artist’s housing project in the Greenwich Village of New York, Mark was adopted by his mother and adoptive father without ever recognizing his biological father. He has a brother, a twin brother, Paul Vincent, a film editor, and two sisters as well.
Mark’s first break with acting came by accident, when at the age of seven he and his friends broke into a theater called “Theatre for the New City,” which was produced in Greenwich Village, to vandalize it. To their delight, a woman stopped and gave a script and $20 to both of them, on the basis that after school they will participate every day. From there, Mark’s career progressed to the Off-Off-Broadway circuit, from the New York repertory business owned by his father.
After graduating high school, Vin enrolled at Hunter College as an English student, but dropped out after three years because he felt it was time for him to continue his acting career. And so he went to Hollywood, hoping that he might be respected by an accomplished and art-driven theatre actor like him. Such a thinking turned out to be wrong because there was no impact he created there and he returned to New York after a year of failing to make his mark. It was the mother of Vin who sent her desperate son a book named “Feature Films at Used Car Prices.” by Rick Schmidt. Later on, the suggestions inside the book prompted Vin to take charge of his profession and produce his own movies.
“Multi Facial” (1994) was the short film Vin wrote on the basis of his own acting experiences, which was filmed at a cost of $3,000 in less than three days. He not only wrote and acted in the film, but also directed and created it, so he needed to be proud because the movie was finally selected for the Cannes Film Festival in 1995, where it earned a turbulent reception.
