Matias Reyes, known for the Jogger Crime in New York’s Central Park, is a registered rapist and an American criminal. He is popularly remembered for the attack and alleged assassination of Trisha Meili in the North Woods of Manhattan’s Central Park on the night of 19 April 1989. A 28-year-old investment banker, Trisha Meili, was raped and murdered as she was jogging in Central Park, Manhattan. She was nearly beaten to death and had been hospitalized in a coma for 12 days. This scenario is popularly known as the’ Central Park Jogger Case.’ He committed his first crime before this and raised a woman, assaulting a lady in the pews of a 90th Street church in 1988 and then Reyes. Fortunately, she managed to escape and, with the aid of her friend, grabbed him before the police came.

According to the New York State Department of Corrections, Reyes is actually in custody and is due to be paroled in August 2022. In 2002, the convicted murderer and serial abuser, Matias Reyes, confessed to raping Ms. Meili.
