Eric Scott Melvin (born July 9, 1966) is a musician from the United States who is best known as the rhythm guitarist for the California punk rock band NOFX. He has been a member of the band from its inception in the early 1980s and has remained so to the current day. Eric is well-known for his dreadlocks, which change colour depending on where NOFX is performing. Melvin can also play the accordion, despite the fact that he is most known for his guitar skills. Mike “Fat Mike” Burkett said in the first episode of the NOFX world tour programme broadcast on the Fuse TV Network that, despite the fact that he, El Hefe, and Erik Sandin have all improved, Melvin still continues to perform at the same level as he did when the band first began.
Many NOFX songs include Eric singing backing vocals. He also contributed to the composition of many NOFX songs with guitar riffs, including the opening to “Seeing Double at the Triple Rock.” Mel’s voice style is referred to as the “Mel Yell.” Also, Eric is a member of the Punk Rock Karaoke band, which includes Steve Soto, Derek O’Brien, and Greg Hetson, and whose slogan is “We Play… You Sing!” While touring with Me First and the Gimme Gimmmes across Europe in 2007, Melvin stepped in for Fat Mike on bass.
