Jacob “Jake” Dalton (born August 19, 1991) is a gymnast from the United States who competes for the University of Oklahoma Gymnastics team as well as the United States National Team. He was born in Reno, Nevada, and raised there as the son of Tim and Denise Dalton. He represented the United States in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. During his time at Gym Nevada, Dalton was a student at Spanish Springs High School and under the guidance of coach Andrew Pileggi. Immediately after graduation, he was awarded an NCAA scholarship to compete for the University of Oklahoma in 2009, where he has achieved All-America accolades in addition to winning the NCAA men’s gymnastics floor and vault championships in 2011 and 2012.

 In 2009 and 2011, he was the U.S. National Vault champion, and in 2011 he was the Floor Champion. In 2011, he won the Winter Cup Challenge’s All-Around Gold medal. He was a part of the USA team that earned the Bronze medal at the 2011 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Tokyo, Japan. On July 1, 2012, it was confirmed that Dalton will be a part of the United States Olympic squad for the 2012 Summer Games in London. Several publications, including the New York Times, have claimed that the squad’s lineup is “thought so strong that it may become the first United States men’s team to win gold since the 1984 Los Angeles Games.” 

Dalton competed as a member of the United States Gymnastics team in the 2012 London Olympic Games, where they finished sixth in the team competition. Dalton earned the bronze medal at the P&G National Championships in 2013, putting him in contention to make the World Championships squad the following year. He went on to earn a silver medal in the floor exercise competition at the 2013 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Budapest.
