John Daniel “Tooz” Matuszak (October 25, 1950 – June 17, 1989) was an American football defensive end who subsequently became an actor in the National Football League. He was the first overall selection in the 1973 draught and spent the most of his career with the Oakland Raiders, retiring in 1981 after winning his second Super Bowl. Matuszak competed in the 1978 World’s Strongest Man competition and came in ninth place. In the 1985 film The Goonies, he portrayed the deformed Sloth, and in Caveman, he played Tonda. Cruisin’ with the Tooz, his biography co-written with Steve Delsohn, was released in 1987.
