Mr. Rob Rainford is a Canadian chef and author of the book Rob Rainford's Born to Grill (which was published on May 8, 2012 by Appetite by Random House). He was the host of the Food Network Canada show Licence to Grill (LTG), as well as Discovery Home in the United States and Asian Food Channel throughout Asia. Rainford has a get-together at his house for one cause or another, and he prepares meals on his grills for the occasion. The programme follows a similar pattern. Rainford was born on November 30, 1966, in Saint Andrew Parish, Jamaica, and immigrated to Canada with his family when he was three years old. At George Brown College, Rainford studied culinary arts, and after finishing his official education, he started his professional career at the following establishments: Gourmet Chef Instructor at George Brown College's Continuing Education Program Kensington Kitchen Accolade/Crown Plaza Sensations (Sept 2002 to present) Rainford also appeared in a series of promotional films for Fresh Cooking, which were released in 2007 and distributed via a number of supermarket chains, especially those controlled by SuperValu. Cooking Moments is a video series that he presents on the Food Network Canada official website, which he also runs. Occasionally, Rainford invites cooks inside his kitchen to assist with a dish.
