Todd Sucherman (born May 2, 1969) is a drummer from the United States who has been a member of the band Styx since March 199Sucherman was raised in a musical household and learned to play the drums from his father. Arnold J. Sucherman, his father, was a doctor by day and a drummer by night, performing in the house band at Chicago’s famous Chez Parre’. Jo (Seiwert) Sucherman, his mother, was an actress in the 1950s and 1960s. Sucherman began playing at the age of two. At the age of six, he played his first paid performance alongside his brothers as
“The Sucherman Brothers.” Paul played keyboards, Joel played bass, and Todd played drums in the band. From September 1987 to May 1988, Sucherman attended Niles West High School and then Berklee College of Music. He studied under world-renowned educators Skip Hadden, Ian Froman, and Gary Chaffee. Sucherman returned to Chicago in 1988 and soon made a name for himself as a studio musician. Sucherman, who was in high demand for live and studio work, joined Styx in March 1995 to re-record “Lady,” now renamed “Lady ’95,” for their 1995 Greatest Hits album, but he remained uncredited. When drummer John Panozzo was unable to play on the Return to Paradise tour in February 1996, Styx requested Sucherman to join them on the road. Following the death of John Panozzo in July,
