Walter Bond (born February 1, 1969) is a former professional basketball player who comes from the United States. A 6’5″ guy “Bond, a shooting guard from the University of Minnesota, was not selected by an NBA club, but he did manage to play in three seasons for the league. From 1992 to 1993, he was a member of the Dallas Mavericks, the Utah Jazz (1993 to 1995), and the Detroit Pistons (1994 to 1995). Also between 1995 and 1997, he was signed by two other NBA teams: the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Atlanta Hawks. 

However, he did not appear in any games for any club. Bond participated in 153 games throughout his NBA career, which was poor by any standard, and scored a total of 873 points in that time. On November 10, 1992, against the Minnesota Timberwolves, in just his second professional game in the NBA, he set a career best with 25 points, becoming the Mavericks’ all-time leading scorer. During the remainder of his 151 NBA games, his single-game scoring numbers began to deteriorate. He also played professionally in Italy with Cirio Avellino (Serie A2, January-June 1998), where he was a midfielder. 

Walter is currently in demand as a motivational speaker, with over 100 speaking engagements booked each year in the United States and abroad, among other places. In addition, he is the presenter of the Food Network series Giving You The Business, which debuted in April 2013 and is still airing. Bond’s 1990 NCAA Elite 8 championship ring was stolen from him in 199It was surprisingly discovered in a home being searched by police investigators in March 2010, almost two decades after it had gone lost. It was returned to him after being missing for nearly two decades. He was born in the city of Chicago, in the state of Illinois.
