Albert Woody Austin II (born January 27, 1964) is an American professional golfer who competes on the PGA Tour. He was born in Los Angeles, California. Austin was born in the Florida city of Tampa. Norman C. Parsons Jr. coached his golf team when he was at the University of Miami, where he was a member of the team for four years. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1986 and began working as a professional later that year. Austin was named the PGA Tour's Rookie of the Year for the year 1995. He has won four times on the PGA Tour: the 1995 Buick Open, the 2004 Buick Championship, the 2007 Stanford St. Jude Championship, in which he had a final-round 62, and the 2013 Sanderson Farms Championship, which he won with a final-round 62. (where he became the 8th oldest winner in Tour history, just younger than Raymond Floyd). When Austin was competing in the Verizon Heritage in 1997, he purposely hit his head with his putter on five occasions.

He slammed his head against the wall so hard that the shaft bent. Austin made light of the fact that he was named after actor Woody Harrelson following the second round of the 2007 PGA Championship (Harrelson being only three years older than Austin). He went on to finish in second place behind Tiger Woods, which was his greatest major result to date. Austin has risen into the top 50 of the Official World Golf Rankings as a result of this accomplishment. During the 2007 Presidents Cup, Austin was trying to hit a shot with one foot in the water when he fell into a pond and broke his leg. While competing in his singles match against 2007 U.S. Open champion Angel Cabrera, he chose to wear swimming goggles to protect his eyes.

Austin won the 2013 Sanderson Farms Championship, marking his first PGA Tour victory in six years after years of adversity in order to retain his PGA Tour eligibility. At the PGA Championship that season, Austin received a four-stroke penalty for having fifteen clubs in his bag; he would miss the cut by one stroke because of the punishment. Austin didn't perform well enough to secure a spot in the FedEx Cup (he finished 137th after making two cuts in eight tournaments, and his victory was only worth 300 FedEx Cup points rather than 500), but his victory guaranteed him a PGA Tour card for the remainder of the 2014 season and into 2015. Texas A&M's Austin was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame on February 13, 2008, during the hall's 40th Annual Banquet, which was hosted at Miami's Jungle Island. Derby, Kansas, is where he now lives.
