Becky Fischer (born 1951) is a Pentecostal children’s pastor best known for her participation in the 2006 documentary Jesus Camp. Becky Fischer was born into a Pentecostal family and raised in a Pentecostal home. Pentecostals have been a part of Fischer’s family for three generations on her father’s side, and she is a fourth-generation Pentecostal on her mother’s side. Over the course of 75 years, her grandpa served as an ordained pastor with the Assemblies of God. Fischer worked as a businesswoman in her hometown of Bismarck, North Dakota, for 23 years, the last eight of which she spent as a part-time children’s pastor at her church. Fischer was born and raised in Bismarck. In 1999, she relocated to North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, to become a part of Tasch Ministries International, an organisation that specialised in mission trips for children and young adults. Having previously worked as a children’s pastor for Rick Joyner’s MorningStar Ministries in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, she returned to her home state of North Dakota to start her own ministry, Kids in Ministry International. As the author of numerous Sunday School curricula for churches, the book Redefining Children’s Ministry in the Twenty-First Century, as well as her own biographical account of her experiences while shooting the movie Jesus Camp, she is well-known in the Christian community.
