Greg Smithey is a fitness and aerobics teacher from the United States. Smithey is most known for inventing The Original Buns of Steel [1] exercise in the 1980s, but he has been a proponent of health and fitness throughout his career. A set of exercises are shown in Smithey’s The Original Buns of Steel, which are aimed at strengthening the buttocks, thighs and upper legs while also toning, developing and sculpting the area around the thighs and upper legs. When Smithey is working out, he includes the lower body strengthening routines that he used to do when training for vaulting. VHS tapes of Smithey’s exercise were sold in excess of a million copies worldwide. On Smithey’s list of projects is the release of a DVD edition of his Original Buns of Steel, which will be made available via the Original Buns of Steel official website. Greg Smithey holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education, a master’s degree in teaching, and is an IDEA-certified fitness teacher.
