Arisa Cox (born December 7, 1978 in Toronto) is a Canadian television and radio personality who is best known as the presenter of the reality television show Big Brother Canada. She was born into a family of entertainers. After graduating from Carleton University’s journalism programme, Cox gained national attention as an on-air reporter for CTV Ottawa, then as a participant in the first season of U8TV: The Lofters. Cox went on to work as a creative producer, entertainment and weather reporter for A-Channel Ottawa, as an entertainment reporter for The A-List, and as an entertainment reporter for The Gill Deacon Show, among other positions. Additionally, she has acted in films such as Instant Star, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, The Smart Woman Survival Guide, and the CBC miniseries Guns, among other projects. In the period September 2007 to August 2009,
Cox co-hosted the entertainment newsmagazine E! News Weekend, which aired on the now-defunct E! Canada network. Jason Ruta, her cohost on E! News Weekend, was also a former U8TV lofter who made an appearance during the show’s inaugural season, which she appeared on. The next year, she joined the CBC News Network as an arts and entertainment correspondent, covering a variety of stories. On January 21, 2013, Cox was revealed as the host of the inaugural season of Big Brother Canada, which premiered the following week. On May 13, 2013, Cox was named as the new cohost of the morning programme on CHBN-FM in Edmonton, Alberta, after the conclusion of the show’s stint on the station. She started working at The Bounce on July 8th, during the morning programme with Ara, and has been there since since.
