“Steve” Gleason (born March 19, 1977) is a retired professional football player who played safety for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League in his prime. A former undrafted free agent, he was first signed by the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2000. He played with the New Orleans Saints from 2000 to 200The NFL released Gleason from his contract in 2008, following eight seasons as an undrafted free agent.
Among Gleason’s most well-known accomplishments is his blocked punt in a 2006 game, which became a symbol of recovery in New Orleans when the club played in its first home game after Hurricane Katrina. In 2011, he stated that he was suffering from Lou Gehrig’s illness, which is also known as Lou Gehrig’s sickness. Gleason announced the Saints’ third-round selection choice in the 2013 NFL Draft, which was made by Gleason.
