The Exploited is a Scottish punk music band that was founded in 1978 as part of the second wave of UK punk. Although The Exploited began as a street punk band, they evolved into a quicker hardcore punk band with a strong political impact. Army Life was formed in Edinburgh by Stevie Ross and Terry Buchan, who were subsequently joined by ex-soldier Walter (“Wattie”) Buchan (Terry’s brother), in March 198They signed with Secret Records and issued their first EP Army Life the following month. In the same year, the band released the album Punks Not Dead. Despite several lineup changes, “Wattie” Buchan has remained the band’s leader, and the group has continued to perform well into the twenty-first century, garnering an international fanbase. The band began creating material for a new album in 2012, and the project is now in the works.
