On January 13, 1996, 9-year-old Amber Hagerman was riding her bicycle in Arlington’s abandoned grocery store parking lot when she was kidnapped.
A witness reported seeing a man with a black pickup truck grabbing Amber off her bicycle and forcing her into his vehicle. Despite her desperate struggle, the man drove away with her.
Four days later, Amber’s lifeless body was found in a creek, approximately four miles from the abduction site. The autopsy revealed cut wounds to her neck as the cause of death.
Over the years, the police received more than 7000 tips related to the case, but the killer remains unidentified.
