Early Life and Ministry

Taiwo Odukoya, born on June 15, 1956, in Kaduna, Northern Region Colony and Protectorate of Nigeria (now part of Kaduna State, Nigeria), was a prominent figure in Nigerian Christianity. He, along with Bimbo Odukoya, co-founded The Fountain of Life Church in 1992. Their mission was clear: to teach individuals the art of building successful relationships and instill principles of leadership. Taiwo’s educational journey took him through Baptist Primary School in Kaduna and St. Paul’s College for his primary and secondary studies. In 1976, he embarked on a new chapter by enrolling at the University of Ibadan, where he completed his degree in petroleum engineering in 1981.


Career at NNPC and Beyond

After completing his studies, Taiwo Odukoya joined the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in April 1982. His entry into NNPC was a result of the compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme. However, in January 1994, he took a voluntary retirement from NNPC, setting his sights on a different path – a path that would lead him to become a spiritual leader and influencer in Nigeria.


Meet Jimmy Odukoya

In the wake of Pastor Taiwo Odukoya’s passing, many have been curious to learn more about his family, particularly his children. Among his offspring is Jimmy Odukoya, the firstborn son of Pastor Taiwo and his first wife, Pastor Bimbo. The couple tied the knot in 1984, having met during their time at the University of Ibadan. Tragically, Pastor Bimbo Odukoya, along with 102 others, lost her life in a devastating plane crash involving Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145.

Jimmy Odukoya, born on April 27, 1993, is now 30 years old. He has gained recognition in Nigeria as an actor, with one of his notable appearances in the movie “The Woman King.”


The Sons of Pastor Taiwo Odukoya

Apart from Jimmy, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya had two more sons, Timilehin and Jomiloju Odukoya, born to his second wife, Nomthi Odukoya (whose real name was Rosemary Simagele Zulu). The couple exchanged vows on January 5, 2010. Unfortunately, in 2021, Nomthi Odukoya passed away after battling cancer.
