Drake Biography and Life Story

Aubrey Drake Graham a.k.a. Drake was raised in Toronto, Canada, only by his mum, because he was only five when his parents got separated. Often, he spent the summers in Memphis with his aunt. He began to compose songs when he was 10 years old. However, as a small-screen comedian, he launched his career in the showbiz industry.

Drake, who was born on October 24, 1986, received his first appearance in the Canadian teen drama TV series “Degrassi: The Next Generation” as a junior high schooler named Jimmy Brooks. As years went on, on such television shows as “Soul Food” “Conviction” “Best Friend’s Date” “The Borders” “Sophie” and “Being Erica” he received more positions.

As a small screen star, gaining fame, Drake could not avoid trying his hands on the music business. He launched his first indie mixtape in February 2006, entitled ‘Space for Change.’ He returned with another independent mixtape, ‘Comeback Season,’ the next year. One of their songs, “Replacement Girl” peaked on the Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles list at number 21.

Drake formed a strong friendship with Lil Wayne and, after working with the rap mogul on a remake of the single “Man of the Year” became his protege. He collaborated on the independent mixtape “So Far Gone” with the help of the Young Money founder and dropped the effort in February 200He teamed up with his mentor, Trey Songz, Peter Bjorn, Lloyd, Omarion, and several more in the set.
Drake made his Billboard Hot 100 debut through “Best I Ever Had”, the “So Far Gone” song. This track climbed to number 18 on the U.S. singles chart without including a featured guest on the hook. It also ranked at number 1 on Hot Rap Tracks on Billboard and at number 2 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs list on Billboard. As an independent musician, he gained all his fame and accomplishment, being signed to no record company, not even to the label of Weezy, Young Money.
