Lil Yachty was born in Mableton, Georgia, on August 23, 199Miles Parks McCollum, a.k.a. As he grew up, he listened to Coldplay, Soulja Child, Kanye West, and Lil B. For young Yachty, things weren’t always simple. He was often mocked by his peers, bullied and threatened. In addition, he began working from an early age. Yachty served at McDonald’s before attending Pebblebrook High School, where he came across other young rappers and artists.

He chose his stage name after graduating from high school in 2015 and moving from Atlanta to New York City in order to do greater things in existence. In the expectation of communicating with people to support him start his hip-hop career, he spent the summer in the Big Apple. He lived with a buddy and as he developed up his Instagram following, he networked with online street fashion personalities. He eventually moved to Atlanta to attend the University of the State of Alabama. He did, though, drop out after two months.

Yachty was detained in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, at a mall in September 2015 for credit card theft. After paying a bail bond of 11,000 dollars, he was released. Since then, things have just taken an upward turn at the end of the year. When the SoundCloud version of his first hit single “One Night” was included in a viral parody meme film, he rose to notoriety. In February 2016, Yachty made his debut as a model at Madison Square Garden in Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 3 fashion show, where he posed alongside Young Thug and others. Yachty launched his debut mixtape, ‘Lil Cruise,’ the next month.

When he started assisting several of the massive hip-hop stars with some hit singles, Lil Yachty launched his career into high gear. In April 2016, on ‘Broccoli’, which peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, he collaborated with D.R.A.M. In the following month, he was also featured on the mixtape “Coloring Book” by Chance the Rapper. He entered into a collaborative record arrangement with Quality Control Music, Capitol Records and Motown Records in June 201Then, in July of that year, he launched his second mixtape, Summer Songs 2.
