Nicki Minaj, who was born on December 8, 1984, is of Indo-Asian origin. And a father who was a heroin user, she grew up in a dysfunctional household. She studied music and acting at LaGuardia High School, but she started her singing career as a supporting vocalist for other singers, like many other great stars.

“Her skills were first noticed on MySpace by Young Money CEO Fendi and later hired for the “The Coming Up” DVD series of The Carter Version of Young Money. Her rapping talent drew the interest of Lil Wayne, who later tagged her with his mixtapes for a variety of collaborations.
In April 2007, her first mixtape, Playtime Is Over, was launched by Nicki. Weezy stole his vocals from one of the tracks. A year later, at the Underground Music Awards, she released another “Sucka Free” mixtape that landed her as the Female Artist of the Year.

She appeared on a bunch of collaborative tracks for studio albums from the likes of Ludacris, Usher, Mariah Carey and, of course, her mentor Weezy after the release of her third mixtape “Beam Me Up Scotty” which earned favorable feedback from BET and MTV.

Generally favorable reviews were received from music reviewers for the record, which was co-produced by Birdman, Wayne and Ronald Williams. When she won Best Hip-Hop Video for her chart-topping song “Anaconda” at the VMAs in 2015, Minaj proceeded to conquer the hip-hop music business.
