Randy Brown (born May 22, 1968) is a former basketball player from the United States. Brown was a guard who attended New Mexico State University and was drafted in the second round of the 1991 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings. He scored 1,349 points in four seasons with the Sacramento Kings, but he is most remembered for his time with the Chicago Bulls. Brown joined the Bulls in 1995, and during the Bulls’ second “three-peat” (1996–1998), he contributed crucial energy and aggression off the bench. Jordan on Father’s Day in the 1996 NBA Finals versus the Seattle SuperSonics. Brown was a fan favourite and one of the few experienced players that remained with the Bulls after the 1998-99 lockout. Due to the unavailability of Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman, he became a full-time starter for the rest of the 1998-99 season, averaging 8.8 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.4 rebounds (all career highs). Brown played one more season in Chicago before briefly joining the Boston Celtics and Phoenix Suns before retiring from the NBA in 2003 with 3,148 points and 1,420 assists in his career. Brown subsequently joined the Kings’ coaching staff as an assistant coach. After filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2009, Brown started an online auction to sell his three NBA championship rings.
